I need a little Programming Logic help

    • Hello, I am using the Hybrid Template installed using RocketLauncher. Template is working great. My question is this. I have a client that wants to have part of the website viewable to the public and other areas for subscribers of two different levels (Gold & Platinum)

The ideal way to structure this is to have a viewable public site. On the Public site there would be a login form for existing users that are already registered who would like to view their membership area (either the Gold member area or the Platinum member area). Also we would need an area where someone can create an account and once directed through PayPal they would land in the subscribed member area to which they belong. I’m not real sure about creating a $_SESSION using Joomla.

This is my first time trying to incorporate this type of function using Joomla. Can someone shed some light on things that I may consider before I attempt this setup? I’m just trying not land in some dead end areas, I'm just asking for some direction from anyone who has accomplished something similar.

    • At this point, Joomla only offers two levels, registered, and unregistered.

If you need to split the registered members into two groups, you will need some ACL component from the JED to accomplish that.

    • Thank You JEM, I will read the article on ACL in depth. I just touched the surface and it seems that it will do what I need it to do. Thank you for your reply and pointing me in the right direction.
