Hello I have a question regarding the best procedure to use to accomplish this task. Let’s say that we have a fantasy basketball league and we need to keep stats and details on players. These would include but not be limited to the following.
First name, Last name, High school, college, pro team, coaches name, position…..ECT
And when someone clicks on this athletes name it would open a player profile section and below that would be a list of all of the articles that this player has been associated with.
This is an example http://espn.go.com/mens-college-basketball/recruiting/rankings when you go to this link it list out the Top 100 players being recruited when you click on their name it opens a profile page and there are 4 tabs below the profile. When you click the tab “On The Trail” it opens all of the articles that are associated with the player.
Is there some type of Module to achieve this and if not, can I create a table in the Joomla Database, and access the query results that way?
If I do create a table in the Database, how can I execute the query from within a Joomla article?
Sorry if this is confusing, but what it boils down to is. I need a database table where I can keep stats on players and also all of the articles that are associated with the player. Then I need to be able to query that data to create a profile and list all of the articles that pertain to that player within a set time frame.

I don't know of an application that will do this out of the box.
It seems like you will have to have it custom coded or dig in with a component like Fabrik and do it yourself.
