    Table edit values and style

Posted 13 years 10 months ago
    • Hello,

I am looking for resources to help setup a table display.
Essentially I need to update a table weekly! with boolean values (yes/no) often seen on sites comparing product includes.
      An example table

      | Red | Green | Blue
      Item 1 |---X--|----X----|
      Item 2 |---X--|----X----|---X
      Item 3 |
      |----X----|---X

I want to create something for the administrator to be able to edit the items and check for each category and thus far I am doing it with phpadmin and php for page display. I often struggle getting php into my joomla site. I tried this with the feature table but do not get the desired results and is a bit cumbersome for referencing the item names. (maybe if I could use the importing)

Any guidance would be helpful. I've looked for other extensions but feel this would be best exercised by myself to increase my skills working with joomla.

Should I attempt to translate this into a component?
Can I decipher feature table and modify it for this type of purpose, and if so would others benefit from or want this product?

    • I admit I am still somewhat of a rookie, but to share where or what I am attempting could be better demonstrated on my sandbox -> http://sugar.kodingen.com/index2.php
Here I have a table that allows me to add or remove values and display them for an administrator
but I am not sure how I can make the added values save-able because i would then have a form (delete) inside of a form (save/update).
