Problem inserting flash...

I've tried posting on a few joomla forums without any luck, I have had zero responses. I know this problem is not related to the template I purchased here but there seem to be quite a few helpful folks in these forums so I thought I would give it a shot.
I have/am creating some flash for this site and I am trying to mount it as a module using the insert flash movie feature. It's a relatively simple flash effect, it is just a background image with a scrolling text box, I do have it setup so that it uses its own CSS file for formatting which could be the problem?
I can insert it and can see the image but it's like my browser doesn't recognize that it's flash, none of the text is viewable. It doesn't require you "click to activate". It is just the background image. The css and html files are all in the same location and if I browse to the http://url/flash/flashinfo.html it displays properly.
I've tried a few modules that manage flash movies without any success.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
