How to integrate Adsense...

...without editing the index.php?
I have Elemental with demo content installed, and I removed the banner and code form index.php. Then I placed a Adsense ad, and it was perfect placed.
But after that I cannot publish Polls. I have tried to place Polls everywhere, but it does not showing on the frontpage.
Why is that? Is it because of Javascript from Adsense? Or it is because I removed "something" from index.php? I have only removed the code for skyscraper1.jpg and placed the code for Adsense. And Adsense is showing correctly, 100% correctly.

Adsense code should be inserted in a module via the module manager in your admin panel (with WYSIWYG editor turned off)
You should not need to touch the index.php at all (I have not played with Elemental much so can't be certain about it specifically.)
Adsense cannot interfere with Polls or any other default Joomla feature. - Say no to Internet Explorer 6.

would you give us just a simplistic example of this ? how do you turn the wysiwyg off?

Check out this module for adsense, or any cut and paste code for that matter....

Or to disable your wysiwyg editor like you asked do this:
1) Log in to your site as admin in the backend.
2) Navigate to site-> global configuration from the top menu items
3) On the first tab shown "site" there is a pulldown next to an item named "Default WYSIWYG Editor:"
4) Choose "No WYSIWYG Editor "
5)Click the save button at the top
All done! you just disabled your wysiwyg editor!
Next thing to do if you want to create your own module is this:
1) From the top menu again go to modules-> site modules and click.
2) Now click the icon that says "new"
3) Name your new module something like "cool new custom module" or whatever in the title field and set it to not show title.
3) Deselect all the options about caching, feeds and mambot etc.
4) Paste your adsense code or whatever custom code, javascript or whatever in the blank field labeled "custom output"
5) Click "SAVE" Publish it and locate it where you want in one of your templates module positions.

Looks like they are doing an upgrade or something right now, I just downloaded that mod last month....bummer.

Just for reference, I take it IF you do not turn off the WYSIWYG some un needed or un wanted code gets interjected in mix.
I can turn the WYSIWYG back on once I create the mod and just copy it as needed and change the parameters to adjust it to new ads or positions.....
Thanks again for your outstanding help and I hope the mod_html will be posted later in better shape. sounds like it could be a very useful tool in the right hands

If you do not disable the wysiwyg editor it will strip out all kinds of tags and code and mess up scripts..
I would post the mod_html here but it clearly states in the xml NO Distribution, copyrighted etc....
