According to the Editors of the Extebsions at Joomla.org
JD-Wordpress is one of their favorites.
Anybody experience with JD-Wordpress?
Vish, you? I noticed your nick on the support forum there.
To start with it seems pretty wierd to me.
You have to doiwnload the zip-file
and then de-zip it to get the component and the modules.
I tried to do that and got indeed a LOT of files
but no other zip-files.
These are the instructions:
"Download the latest flavor of JD-WP from either joomladeveloping.org or developer.joomla.org. As of this post it's JD-WP v2.0 1.0RC2. Marko now bundles the JD-WP component as well as all currently available modules into this one file.
REMEMBER to unarchive (unzip) this package on your desktop prior to "trying" to install as the actual module and components zips are zipped inside the single file you just downloaded."
Then I tried, going against the above instructions, to opload and install
the zipfile and ... ... ... SUCCES & presto JD-Wordpress was installed.
HUH? What's happening.
I am as of now trying to implement it on my personal blog, which I have been working on for a while now but I am now more than satisfied with the look of it !!
THe best thing I like about wordpress is the categorization of your posts and showing the post by category. In Joomla an article can only be in a particular category and section and that is it. In wordpress, you can make as many categories you want and a particular post can belong to more than one category...That is my opinion is cool and what I was looking for !!
Thanks for the replies!
On the forum of JD-Wordpress there was a lot of talk
about the permissions problem.
"You do not have sufficient permissions to access this page."
Any luck or trouble with that?
My work around is to log-in in the backend.
then log-out again and then log-in again.
Only then I can use JD-Wordpress.
Every time I have this permission problem
and it also seems/seemed related to
wether or not I am online or offline with my site.
Nevertheless JD-wordpress works
and that is the main thing.
Thanks again
for replying.
