Joomla + RT Slow site speed... ? Recent move and reconstruction.

  • Joomla + RT Slow site speed... ? Recent move and reconstruction.

    • Greetings, I just switched servers for my basketball recruiting site, the domain is now www.mybasketballprofile.com

I have been getting some sporadic server speed / site speed issues. I was wondering if anyone could surf there and see how it functions for them...

Installed modules: AEC, CB, JACL, JcalPro, CB Search, CB Profile URL, JoomlaXplorer, Joomlapack, SM2 Email Marketing, I think that's pretty much it aside from the standard ones.

I packed it with Joomlapack, restored site and database on new server, adjusted config.php. and other site elements... Sometimes it runs fine, but then it lags badly... I am not sure if this is on my end, server, or what. I do know that when the site lags, the cpanel, and all backend functions run fine and at good speed. It seems to me its something to do with the CMS itself, but I am not sure what...

Thanks fellas... This one goes beyond me.

      Rob

    • Thank you Joe... So this is on my end then... Argh, I just toasted the entire install and am trying to do a fresh site, import the DB, and restore the site.... After 3 hours of messing with AEC, JACL, hacking files, etc I just said to heck with it... You know what, the fresh install operates in the same fashion - poorly, so it must be some setting on this Macbook Pro... I wonder what it could be? Right now, I toasted the site and I cannot even restore it... Talk about frustrating. The ugly default install is up, and until I get home from night shift tomorrow to check it out on the other Mac desktop, I'm at standstil... Thanks for checking it out... Glad I have the database and everything otherwise I would REALLY be peeved.

      WTF!!!???!!! Stinkin MACS!

      Thanks again Joe...

    • Ok even the old site location, www.rizzorecruiting.com , loads poorly albeit not at all...

Something on my machine must not like Joomla sites anymore, but I wonder what it could be? Other sites on the net load fine...

Even my other Joomla site at www.betougher.com loads up fine... Confusing...

    • Are all the sites on the same host?

It is odd that it is the same site that keeps acting badly.

    • I believe I was running a combination of 1.0.13 and 1.0.12 Joomla files, add some components and wham... instant site killer. Installing a fresh fantastico install and extracting my old backup on top of it was obviously not a good idea... Also, it had a lot to do with the web browser cache. Actually I think it was more or less a cache issue period, but something must have not been correct to cause the error.

So note to all, before you bomb a site, clear your cache... Saves you headaches and lots of tears!!! =)
