Component Link - make full width

I have created a component link from the mainmenu, but when that link is clicked I want the component it goes to be the entire page width. I need to be able to have the mainmenu not show when the component page is viewed. This is for a message board where I need the full width.

- thank you, that fixed it, but what about for the poll results? The results are the full width and the mainmenu on the left disappears. I have the mainmenu set to display on all pages except the forum as I wanted, but there is no selection for the mainmenu showing poll results. Any ideas?
