Which community extension?

Right, here goes. I purchased JomSocial early on and played and it was nice, but there were all these links back to their site, even when you paid for the professional version. I also have to admit that I always thought Azrul didn't care as long as he was getting his cash and the way they stopped support for JomComment (after loads of promises) sort of did it for me, I was never going to go back.
Now JomSocial is in new hands and even though the PR coming out is nice, I just dont like the feeling of buying software from an American company outsourcing to somewhere else and from what I understand that is what Merav does, so I'm still reluctant, maybe even more so.
So, here is the thing; I'm looking for a community extension and JomSocial is pretty much out so where do I go? One thing I'm going to want is to integrate content from ZOO into the users profile so we can see what they've posted in their profile or wall but apart from that, I'm open to any suggestion.
Do you have one?
