Strange PayPal Gift Certificate Button Behavior

Posted 17 years 6 months ago
    • I'm attempting to implement PayPal gift certificates into my site and while using the exact same cut and paste form code snippet supplied from PayPal's gift certificate button maker it only functions in my VirtuMart store and not on a static content page. Links bellow.
      Any ideas?
      Thanks you
      Cory

None working button on static content page.

    • is the button from paypal supposed to be showing here?:

If so when you pasted your code from paypal in did you disable your wysiwyg editor?
The wysiwyg editors frequently cause problems stripping things out of cut&paste codes, javascripts etc...

    • I have the editor turned off in global setting and user prefernaces. Because teh sites live I had to go with simply a link to the Virtumart version for now.

    • The paypal code includes an email address, and if you have the email "cloaking" bot enabled, this will break paypal code.

If you don't have other email addresses on your site, you can turn the bot off.

    • Hi All, how do I disable the email "cloaking" bot so that my paypal button will function?

      Thanks,
      Eddy Ray

Was able to find this and resolve the issue... ;D

    • Instead of your e-mail, you can use the "Sponsorship Code" (also known as "Secure Merchant Account ID") :D

So that you can use again the Joomla! email cloaking to protect your emails from spam.
