    MediaCoder - transcode your vids

    Posted 17 years 10 months ago
    • Until recently I have produced all my vid's in ms movie maker (I know it's rubbish!) but now I've found a FREE open source transcoder for converting video files into your choice of format. This really has helped me with movie maker as the output options aren't very good. i.e a 640x480 mpg vid is massive and as I want to offer high speed and low speed connection variants for my vid's. So now I can output a huge file and then transcode it down to my spec's.(audio and video seperatly) http://mediacoder.sourceforge.net/index.htm
      It supports all these formats below;
      * MP3, Ogg Vorbis, AAC, AAC+/Parametric Stereo, AMR NB/WB, MusePack, WMA
      * FLAC, WavPack, Monkey's Audio (APE, APL), OptimFrog, WMA Lossless, WAV
      * H.264, Xvid, DivX 4/5, MPEG 1/2/4, H.263, Flash Video, etc.
      * AVI, MPEG/VOB, Matroska, MP4, PMP (PSP Media Player Format)

      Unfortunatly it's only for windows or linux (hard luck mac users!!!)

      Great soft, thanks ! But Mac users can install Windows on their MacBook, MacBookPro, Mac mini and iMac Intel Core ;)

      And even open Windows applications without rebooting Mac OS X thanks to Parallels http://www.parallels.com/
