    To Add or Not To Add Suffix to URL's

    • On RT's SEO page, www.rockettheme.com/docs/technical_tips/blogging/seo.md , it indicates to set the Add Suffix to URL to 'Yes'. Has there been any definitive research that supports adding the suffix versus not adding the suffix? I have done a lot of reading and it all seems subjective with little supporting evidence either way.

    • It doesn't say to set it to 'Yes' anywhere on that page... it merely lists the options available in Joomla...

      I personally don't think it matters... I prefer it without....

      I do a fair amount of SEO... and yes, everyone has an opinion :)

      My gut tells me Google doesn't penalize/reward either way... but that if Google's stated mission is to provide users the best possible/friendliest result then having NO suffix is a "friendlier" URL...
