Firefox Flash Transparency

    • Sorry to post this here, but this is the best forum I use, so I thought I'd try as I haven't gotten a good answer elsewhere yet...

Has anyone been having issues with transparency in Flash, using Firefox on Vista? Transparencies that used to work are not working now...

I have a machine with XP and an older Flash player and this site appears fine in Firefox: www.terrystoffee.com . But on my Vista box with the newest Flash player, no transparency - you can see white backgrounds. See example of screenshot here if you can't recreate problem yourself: www.terrystoffee.com/firefoxtransscreenshot.gif (white box shouldn't appear).

Can anyone offer help, confirmation or advice?

    • Hmmm. Maybe I'll reassess my opinion about the friendly and helpful nature of this forum.

    • Just a misinterpretation, I am sure :)

RocketLabs really isn't the place for Vista enquires so will move to it to Water Cooler.

I really hope not! I didn't mean to be rude, it was just an invite to be active in this great community. I was going behind your statement. :)
      Welcome, by the way.

    • No problem. I was just looking for a solution to my problem and your question didn't seem to apply, and also seemed to imply something irrelevant about the fact that I had only posted 3 times.

So if anyone is experiencing this problem I'm having and can give insight that would be great. A couple of folks have tested and are suggesting that the issue is with the Flash plugin. I haven't had anyone be able to replicate the problem I'm seeing. And I'd like to know what is causing it, because if I'm seeing it, surely another user out there is seeing it.

      Peace.
      t.

    • With Vista + IE7 it's showing perfectly. With Vista + Firefox with an older Flash plugin too.
It's sure that the problem is that version of Flash plugin for Firefox. You can report the bug at:

      www.mozilla.org/quality/bug-writing-guidelines.html

Anyway, if nobody was able to replicate the problem you are seeing, the probability that a visitor will see it is very low.
