linking nav to components in 1.5. how?

- so i'm still wraping my head around 1.p and the differences b/t it and 1.0. With that said, in 1.5, how do I ad nav menu links pointing to components. in 1.0, you simply go MENU >> NEW >> COMPONENT ITEM. i realize this is a newbie type question but 1.5 has me feeling really new right now. i can see how to do it. thx.
