Rename RT directory: What else has to be changed to get template to work?
Posted 17 years 2 weeks ago
If I change the directory of the template I am using, what else has to be changed/remapped to get the template to work? I tried simply changing the directory, but then it renders the default Joomla template...so assume I would have to change a lot? If so, it's not worth it, I guess...just made me think that it might be a good idea after I see the "rt_chromatophore_j15" in my source code when viewing the site.
...and did a Google search on rt_chromatophore_j15 and see a number of sites now using the latest and greatest.

You could first change the template name in the template .xml file, re-package (.zip/ .tgz) the customized template and save the file as your_template_name.zip (.tgz) and then install it.

I asked about this about a week ago, after the install I changed the name of the 'rt_chromatophore_j15' folder to 'site'. No adverse effect that I can see so far.
You can also change the name of the folder of the install, in my case, I changed it to cms.

Hmmm, I changed the name of the folder AFTER I installed it, and the site now launches the default Joomla theme. But going forward, Roland, I'll play with the .xml file.

With this rocket launcher the joomla theme is what first loads, you have to go to the template manager, choose the new theme, and make it the new default.
Usually, the new theme appears, but not this time.
I'm no expert, but I think just choosing the theme as default and renaming the folder will work.

Thanks. I swear I went in there and toggled default, but after renaming it again and checking the tempate manager, there was no default...good call, thanks!
