    • Hi,

      I'm really very new to this, though an admirer of Joomla for some time now. I just joined the club after seeing Populus and Chromat(sp) templates. Here's my problem, and I hope someone can help us.

      We're a nonprofit organization, and we just purchased a community software program. We want the populus as the "skin?" for the website (I hope that's the right term). The person putting up the community doesn't do this, and I don't know how to - yet.

      So, the question is this: do I wait until he puts up his software, or do I put Joomla up first? The point is to integrate, but this chicken and egg question is maddening, and the guy I'm working with doesn't seem to want to do anymore than what he's paid to do.

      If there is someone out here who'd be willing to oversee this project for our organization, we could afford 75.00 to pay for your troubles.

    • What is the software being installed that you want to integrate with Joomla?

    • Hi,

      The site is www.buildacommunity.com . I don't know about these things, but the developer says it's compatible with the Joomla, but I have to set it up myself.

    • I may be mistaken, but it seems to me that the features of this application can all be done in Joomla using a variety of Joomla extensions and build in capabilities.

      Joomla = free
      BaC = $199

      I know which direction that I would go in. ;) If BaC serves your needs, great.

      To me it looks like you have to choose between Bac and Joomla, I just do not see how you can integrate the two.

    • Hi,

      It serves my needs because I wasn't capable of doing it myself through Joomla. I asked people to help, got one person who was willing, but then proceeded to back out when I explained what we were trying to accomplish. So, unfortunatelly, we're stuck with this comopany. It's good, but would have been nice to do it through Joomla.

      Still, we need to have help to put this up.

    • You're absolutely right, and I choose Joomla! I was taken advantage of by this person, and I'm really frustrated because he knew our organization needed to have this up.

      If you can help us to set it up, it would be so great. Could you give me a call at: 816.718.0264?

      Thanks!
