    • Error page is located under
      /template/system/error.php
      Under css you will find error.css file.
      Copy template/sytem/error.php in template you use.

      For modifing and inserting Custom 404 inside the content area look at:

    • I copied over the error.php file to my template directory (in my case joomla_root/templates/hivemind/error.php). I then created a 404-error content page in Joomla (even created a menu item in "other menu"). The custom error page appears when called, but Joomla is placing the 404 page in the content area of the homepage (not a seprate 404 page). Can anyone offer a fix or some insight into this problem?

      Also, I use the sh404SEF component. Could sh404SEF have something to do with it? I set-up the 404 function in sh404SEF, but couldn't get that one to appear either. Any ideas?

      I followed the couple links provided at RT and searched around, but I find many potential answers, but no real solutions.
