    • I installed the full package which included Joomla and the template. I got the part of installation where you are told to delete the installation folder. Underneath this, it said that the configuration.php had not been created and there were some code that I had to use to create configuration.php. So I did all those web site worked fine. However, when I try and install the new template, it telling me that /media folder is not writable, however, when I check it, it does seem to be. all the other folders are not writable either according to the page away on stormy templates, media/ administrator/templates/ templates/ images/stories/. When I actually check these folders, the file permission is 755, the same as any other website. I can't understand what's gone wrong

    • That was the first thing I checked and it was okay. Anyway, I have deleted the files uploaded them on to another server.

I have a question, I'm not going to start a new thread and waste database space. What are home servers for? can you use them as a personal server connected to the Internet? the reason I ask is because my Oscar Fish site is very slow occasionally. I did read a thread on the joomla site that said that it was a good idea to use a personal server because shared hosting can be slow. I just don't know if a home server is similar to what we already use
