    • I was one of the original founders of jamboworks (with mitch pirtle and andrew eddie), we split of the template club and I went my separate ways as rockettheme and jamboworks. Now it appears jamboworks has changed it's name to Ivivio. I have no affiliation with Ivivio.

    • Am I missing some links on that site or....?
I am not seeing anything remotely interesting anywhere?

      Forgive me for being stupid.

Amy: It's nice to see you in the RocketTheme forum. I just want to say thank you for posting the Absolute Beginners Guide to Joomla! forum.joomla.org/index.php/topic,47524.0.html

That's what got me into Joomla! a few months back. I truly appreciate you taking the time to do that overview and yet touch on some of the details as well. Your guide along with Anna's Joomla Tips ( forum.joomla.org/index.php/topic,5503.0.html ) were instrumental in getting me comfortable with Joomla. Again thank you. :)

      Steve N - hey - thanks for that! I am sorry I didn't see that earlier! :) :) :)

James, et. all - what's the concern? The boy has gotta eat! ;) Ivivio does commercial work - So does RocketTheme - so does Rochen - we all got bills to pay - at least I do! I'm with Thomas - I don't get the suggestion. I don't mean that negatively at all - Am missing something?

Sometimes, I think open source is just too complicated!

    • While talking about the generator on their own website it is interesting to note that the publicised National Lampoon website that is supposedly using the Ivivio Publishing Platform has
      <meta name="generator" content="WordPress 2.0.3" />
in its source. Ah marketing a wonderful thing.

uhmm... I don't know why you chose my name for that... all I was doing was providing some information. I'm not 'concerned' at all about them... I was just providing some info where I thought I could...
I happen to have an addiction to food myself... and think everybody needs to eat!
I agree with you that open source can be hard to understand. I've never been able to eat off of a 'free' business model.

Look at zine.nationallampoon.com with URLs such as index.php?option=com_jambozine&layout=article&view=page&aid=245&Itemid=32 ... although it's broken in a few places.

      Kind regards,

I have an addiction, myself! ;) Trying to get rid of a bit of the extra eating from the holidays. Two weeks of debauchery - three months of celery.

Good, I was hoping I misunderstood! My apologies! Frankly, I am always relieved to know that there is money coming in from somewhere for these guys. I think we have a LONG WAYS TO GO in figuring out the ethical and economic balance of open source. "Free as in liberty" - cool; "Free as in beer" - well, that only works so far.

I have two kids - two sets of braces - two college careers - two cars - Criminy! ;)

      Kind regards,
      Amy :)
