image issue after migrating 1.0.15 to 1.5.3

hi there!
i know this is a joomla question, i have already posted this question at joomla.org, but i thought here i might get a quicker answer
i have migrated a LOCAL COPY of my 1.0.15 site to 1.5.3 and there were only a few things i needed to fix afterwards.
but here is something that i dont understand:
if i open the 1.5. site and do a right click on any image and select: view image, i can see that the file path is pointing to the image folders of the 1.0.15 installation.
the pics all show correctly for the moment, but i want to move this new 1.5.3 site to my host and i believe that all images will get broken.
how can i get all my images from articles, banners etc. to be taken from the image folders of my 1.5.3 install, without changing it all manually???? ???
i hope that made all sense, dont know how else to explain.
