how do i add menu item that blogs category titles in 2 columns
Posted 16 years 9 months ago
In J1.5, how do I create a menu item that blogs all article titles from a particular so that the titles and intro text are listed in 2 columns. By intro text, I am referring to the text before the "read more" link.
**Edit**
As far as I know, I have the correct setting for this menu item but i get a single column rather than 2 columns. See attached to check my settings. TIA.

Hi Thomas,
I was just looking for an answer to the same question. What I've determined so far is that multiple RT templates display this way in 1.5. The Beez template that comes with the 1.5 install DOES display a 2-column blog as expected.
I'm starting to wonder if there is some new CSS related to the blog layouts in 1.5 that maybe hasn't been accounted for in the RT 1.5 templates.

It's the weirdest thing. I thought so too. It isn't exclusive to RT templates though. I've having the same issue with a yootheme site so I'm sure it's a J1.5 issue.

Yeah. I wasn't saying that I thought the RT templates did something wrong. Just that maybe they haven't accounted for multi-column blog layouts in 1.5. This could be true of the Yoo templates also.
Worth noting - the Milkyway template that comes as default with 1.5 has the same problem. The Beez template that comes as an option with 1.5 handles it correctly. Beez is said to be an accessible template that was designed from scratch for 1.5.
Because it works in the Beez template, I'm of the mind that it's an an issue brought about by 1.5, but it's really the templates that are in need of some adjustment or update.
