Advertising in Template Banners

- I recently placed the banner modules in my template (terran tribune, dark ver1.5) and as soon as I activated it, outside banners started showing up. Is this normal or can I somehow shut this down. Someone mentioned that the script maybe in the banner, but how do I check to see if that's the case. I want to put banners I'll be paid for in those positions. I used the banner module that came with the template. Please help.

- Thanks Yves, I think that stopped the other banners from comming in, but time will tell. But I do notice that banner also populates the other ad spots i have on the page. Is there a totural that explains banner ads. Thanks for your help.
