Hello all I am having a bad time with Rocket Launcher, here is what I am doing, I have a go daddy hosting account, I am a MacBook Pro user and I trying to get Rocket Launcher to work properly, I am new to this and have work on trying all day to get this to work so that I can use Hyperion template on my site, anyone have help or experienced this problem Launching the Launcher
I am not sure what being a Mac user has anything to do with it, unless of coarse you are attempting to run Joomla on your Mac, but it doesn't sound that way. It seems you are using Go Daddy's hosting service?
It also seems you have an existing site? If you do, then Rocket Launcher isn't for you. Rocket Launcher is not a program, it's a Joomla Install that is preconfigured with Rockettheme data and all the modules the demo site has. Which then allows you to customize the site to your liking.
If you don't have an existing site all you have to do is download the RL compressed file to your Mac, decompress the files then FTP them to your root directory on your host.
Once there, you point your browser to your web server and it should walk you through the setup process.
Keep in mind your Go Daddy account must include a mySQL database.
I hope this helps. If you are still running into problems let me know.
thanks you very much Bruce for the info, now I have one Q, what RL file are you talking about, I see RT files every where. When I go to the Hyperion tutorial the instruction for the Rocket Launcher tell me to extract the Joomla_RT_Element file and ftp that, and so on. Bruce I really just want my site to look like the demo and then make the changes to suit my need, and I am getting beat up by this soft ware and by my lack of experience. If you have the gumption to give me more specific advise it would be greatly appreciated
1. Create a new database in your Go Daddy account.
2. Extract locally the RocketLauncher package.
3. FTP the files to your root directory on your host.
4a. If you uploaded the content of the uncompressed folder (for example Joomla_RT_Versatility4_j15), start the install directly with:
www.yoursite.com
4b. If you uploaded the directory itself (for example Joomla_RT_Versatility4_j15), start with:
www.yoursite.com/Joomla_RT_Versatility4_j15
5. Follow the video tutorial:
tutorials.rockettheme.com/video/joomla15...uncher-joomla15.html
Just follow Yves instructions and just be patient and take it one step at a time. Wtih a Rocket Launcher setup, you will have the exact same setup as the demo.
Thanks a lot, the big deal for me is getting my site to look like the demo and part of confussion is how to do that, I am going to do as you have suggested
Hey all its Ralph again, Cat's here is the problem my site is 95% Joomla home page with Hyperion header, I have uploaded different configs now for the last 2 days and I am obviously in way over my head with this, it seemed to be straight forward to install the template and have it look like the demo PLEASE SOMEONE tell me am I this dull or is there some form of assumed knowledge that I do not have that is keeping me from uploading this template correctly?
