Could anyone please tell me if there is any facility that will allow me to inspect/view the source code of .asp documents on the web?
I wish to view the actual source code and not the output html is this possible?

- asp (and php) both run on server side, so it's impossible to view the source code by simply right click - view source code

- I know they both run on the server side but thought someone might of come up with a way around this? Is there not some programme that I can run which would show the source rather than the output?

Good point :cheesy: I only want to look!
I've been asked to update a site for a friend who has fallen out with his ISP unfortunatly the source code lies on the server and he no longer has access to this but can log into the front end as admin he just wants to recreate something he has already paid for, I'm sure there is a "hacker" out there who can provide a solution.
For the record I do not agree with hacking websites I just want to help a friend who has already paid for the code.

yes, I am sorry to hear that ... but as far as I know, it's impossible to look at the source code without "hacking" the server
Hope you can find the right "hacker"

and, why not trying to contact the script programmer first? Your friend paid it, and they should give you the code source.

I can only imagine myself in this situation because it sound so bad people will think differently and worst the code is on the remote server and you don't have access. Furthermore it's asp so MS Windows is the OS and I am sure there are people out there with the knowledge but this is not the place to find them...
If I were your friend, do the honorable thing and crawl back to your ISP...
