Editor component doesn't install with RocketLauncher sites

Posted 16 years 4 months ago
    • Hi,

I've been unable to install an editor (JCE, FCK) when using a RocketLauncher template. (Chromataphore, Joomla 1.5)

Other components seem to work, just the editor. I'd like to use FCK. It's starts to load then I get a blank screen (white) once it gets to the server. I've tried other WYSIWYG editors and the same thing happens. Permissions are fully 777.

No problems with a base Joomla 1.5 site. Am I missing something?

      Thanks,

    • Ok it seems that the one who has root access needs to fix this as it appears to be a CHOWN issue. But as always, there is a work-around :)

      * Look at install_extension_workaround_123.png :)

1 Upload/Install your plugin, wait until the white page appears, then go to step 2.

2 Login via FTP and navigate to the /tmp folder and browse through /install_* to locate the plugin you want to install.

3 Copy the directory name from step 2 and insert it in the textbox below Install from Directory. Press the Install button and wait until the install plugin success message appears.

Now on to the JoomlaFCK Editor part...

Check default_wysiwyg_editor.png and assign FCK as default. To apply the template's CSS, check this thread:

      www.joomlafckeditor.com/tutorials/16-war...r-to-be-a-valid-file

      Done! :)

That would be me, but I've very limited knowledge in this area. Basically none. What should I do?

I'll go with FCE since FCK is giving an "Error 500"

      Thanks for your investigative report

      Best Regards,

    • Error 500 is an internal server error...

Anyway, you may want to check this thread: forum.joomla.org/index.php/topic,9987.msg82253.html
