Hi,
I have a software application that I would like to sell on line. I'd like for user's do be able to download load a demo once they have registered. Then also have a license that can be purchased, once purchased the license can be emailed.
Does anyone have any suggestions? Is Virtuemart the best tool for this or are there other solutions that may work better?

For something integrated into Joomla, it's probably your best solution.
Barring that, a third party solution such as Digital River, Plimus, or the many others available may be a solution, but they come at a cost; a percentage of your sales. They do have the added benefit of automating the demo to full versions, auto key generation, and activation if you choose to use it. (Set up is free, and you pay a percentage of the product.)
If you want to avoid the percentage of profits scheme, you may want to look into having a developer set it up for you. (Set up is not free, and probably expensive, but you own it.) - Thanks,

Thanks for the reply JEM.
Well, my software already will set itself up as a demo when installing it. Then, it can be activated with a license key that I provide. So that part is done.
On the website, I need something that will:
1. When the user clicks to download a trial copy, they are presented a form to fill out before
downloading.
2. Once the form is completed, then have a link to continue downloading.
3. Have a shopping cart to purchase a license. Once the order is processed, then email the license key. ( which I've already generated. )
I have setup a couple VirtueMart sites and it looks like it maybe able to handle the license portion. But I'm not sure how to handle the trial download.
I thought there maybe an extension for this or someone may have a better idea.
