I have to agree with everything Dave G. said I really like what you have now it's simple, professional and effective.
To paraphrase the old saying "IF IT AIN'T BROKE DON'T SCREW AROUND WITH IT" especially on the basis of "I fancy something different".
I would kill for a logo of this quality for www.autos.co.uk or www.seriousgadgets.co.uk (hint hint). -

I will second that... the logo for rocket theme is probably one of the most easily recognisable logos i have come across when it comes to joomla.. to be honest i would base any new site design around the rockettheme logo as opposed to the other way around..

Unfortunately my artistic skills have gone to Australia so im just going to say an idea
How about a horizontal rocket with "Rocket" on it following by a snazzy flame with the overlaying "theme"
