Configuration.php question

I'm starting to prepare to upload my site from localhost to my hosted area. I've read a lot of articles about changing certain settings in configuration.php (like $mosConfig_absolute_path, etc.). I've taken a look at my current configuration.php and I have no properties that start with $mosConfig. The contents of my file is a JConfig class with properties that correspond to the Global Site configuration on the admin pages. I feel like I'm missing something here
. Why don't I have any of these properties (using Joomla 1.5.9)?

It's called $live_site in Joomla 1.5
