    SOLVED Posting manners?

Posted 16 years 2 weeks ago
    • I'm used to car forums and other open forums where you don't have to be a paying member.

In these forums we post pretty much as we want. We go a little off topic but it all ends good in the end. We're grown ups, for the most part.

So, where am I going with this?
Is it frown upon to "intervene" in posts in this neck of the woods? To ask a related question in a thread started by someone else?

I search a lot and often find questions that could look like something I would ask, but of course, I can't be sure without asking.

I've done this twice now, but I've been ignored. So please tell me how to act.

    • hi there!

we dont mind people posting their issues into an existing thread if it is related to the same issue.
sometimes it happens thou, that these posts stay unnoticed, if the thread itself has already been marked as solved, so it might be better to start a new thread.

can you please post links to the 2 posts of yours, where you felt you have been ignored?

      thanks, kat :)

    • It depends on the question to be honest. Some people do post in someone elses topic which is unrelated so the likelihood of a reply is probably quite low.

If it is a large thread of the same issue and you have the same issue, probably wise to post in that thread.

We don't frown or encourage on such activity, we just take new posts as we see them and try to answer them. Just keep in mind common sense approach to posting in getting the best response, nothing special :)

    • Good to know, thanks.

(I'll start new topics regarding those two posts I felt ignored about.)
