School/Event Closing/Delays for Joomla??

  • School/Event Closing/Delays for Joomla??

    • I work for a radio group in Burlington, IA, and our currents websites were designed by a long gone employee. He made a closing/delays system that is integrated between all eight (yea, eight, we have alot of stations!) websites. I was wondering if anyone knows a component/module/plugin for joomla that could do the same thing?

      An example is at www.kbur.com

      Thanks!

    • Sorry for not being more clear!

The website were developed from scratch by a former employee of the stations. The system we use was developed by him.

We want to migrate to joomla, and this is the only hurdle we need to overcome. We need the abaility to add/edit/delete school and event closings/cancellations from either the front or backend of joomla, and have it display on one website (eight ideally, but we can link to one from the others if we need to).

      Hope this explains more!

      Thanks again!

      Hi Matthew,

No problem... To create your new site you will have to install Joomla! and of course have a template. There are a multitude of RocketTheme template styles to choose from. Plus, all our templates feature many free and or custom RocketTheme extensions.

It is my suggestion that you begin by looking through the templates and choose one that best fits your needs keeping style and function in mind. Every template has details about how that particular template works, how it functions, what it includes, etc. in the demo.

As for the section you refer to as "school and event closings/cancellations" I am unsure about this because I don't have any working knowledge of what it is exactly that this does? If there is something you need that isn't a core element of Joomla! or available in one of our templates you can do further research for additional extensions at www.joomla.org .

Hope this helps get you started.

    • I PMed one our members, a Fabrik fanatic. :D

Since there is no 'out of the box' solution for something like this, you may want ot search or post on the Fabrik forum for more info.

You may be able to, with some effort, create a custom coded solution for yourself.

The other option would be to post in the The Market Place, JoomLancers, or Rent-a-Coder for a custom solution.
    • Thanks,

    • Thanks JEM. I just started looking into Fabrik, and I think it may be along the lines of what I need.
