    SOLVED JoomlaPack Potential Error

Posted 15 years 11 months ago
    • Hi guys,

I''ve just loaded JoomlaPack and am wondering what is the difference between the regular version and the "special" version they have listed here?
      http://joomlacode.org/gf/project/jpack/frs/?action=FrsReleaseView&release_id=9918

Also, using either one - I get an error message even though the component seems to be working? When I'm about to backup the site I see this:

JoomlaPack may not work as expected
JoomlaPack detected the following potential problems:

      * Default output directory in use
      * ZIP format selected

I have resolved the ZIP format issue - Just tell JoomlaPack to use the JPA Archive Format instead.
      Components>JoomlaPack>Configuration>Advanced
For the Archiver engine select JPA Archive Format.

But I don't understand the issues around the "Default output directory in use".
      There some information here: http://www.joomlapack.net/help-support-documentation/warnings/q203.html
      Does anyone have any ideas?
Security is a MAJOR concern for me.

      Thanks guys!
      Hugh

      Best,
      Hugh

    • I have figured this out as well:

For the directory output - that's where the files are being saved. This should be outside the public_html folder so they're not accessible on the web.

In JoomlaPack I just configured it to save in a backup folder within the home directory and not the public_html folder.

      I hope this helps!

    • Alternately, you can leave it as default and move the file right after you complete the back up.
