Just wondering if someone could tell me if what I want is possible with Joomla, and maybe point me in the right direction if it is. I've been searching the JED but can't seem to find a solution.
The predominant people who register on my site are business owners within an industry that the site covers. They can already advertise their business by self publishing and self editing within SOBI2.
I would like to offer them their own simple web page within my site that they could self publish and self edit like SOBI2 allows. I looked at the Joomla Author mode and blogging platforms, but both are completely unsuitable.
My question is... does such an extension exist?
Or should I be looking at integrating another platform underneath Joomla? (if so.. which)
Templating Sobi gives me a headache, I'd really need to ratchet up my php skills to tackle that one to get a decent result. I was thinking about looking more into CB and maybe converting a "shop" type of component to give a page with some description and image fields?? Was really hoping there would be something suitable available...
Thanks Rich, will head over to CB and have a look.
It's funny, thats the 2'nd time tonight someone here recommended Dreamweaver to solve some issues I was having, but I'm not a developer so don't have a great enough need to warrant the purchase price and learning time required for it.
Regarding Joomla, my coding skills are only rudimentary, I run a business, have a family, and have spent all my spare time over the past 12 months in trying put my website together, and I've just taken on phpBB3, as well as planning to open a new business after Winter. I hadn't even heard of Joomla or CMS this time last year, I was still deciding between using iWeb and Sandvox with about 10 HTML commands at my disposal (yep, pretty green ). It's not a case of not wanting to... just not the right person... and just not enough time.
