Portfolio recommendation

Has anyone found a simple portfolio that is easy, not full of bugs, and has instructions in English? I've tried almost everyone on the extensions list at Joomla.org and some work well but don't have the look i want. I just tried the Juliaportfolia (newest edition). No directions. Installed fine, but it wont create the thumbnails. I email the person who submitted, think he is in Germany.
Just seems like EVERYONE has a portfolio so why is this extension area so weak? Any ideas or links to ones you have installed that i can peek at.

there are all kinds of fields i didnt even use like, date of work, description, testimonial from client, extra pictures. I can recommend this one nicely.
