    SOLVED Jomsocial AND Community Builder

Posted 15 years 11 months ago
    • Hi everybody! Is anybody using Jomsocial AND Community builder in the same site? Is there conflicts? For instance- could I use Community Builder for unpaying users and their comments on my blogs, and use Jomsocial users who want a fuller experience? Can Jomsocial and Community builder exist side-by-side, commenting...dare I say it... on the SAME blog posts/articles?

You're all great. Thanks for the help. :)

    • You are probably best asking this over on the respective sites but I'd be surprised if someone was using both.

I think the one to wait for is my.joomunity.org/

    • I would STRONGLY advise against trying to use two very large community programs on one site. You'll undoubtedly run into many frustrating conflicts, if not actual site errors, it will be things like two PM systems and not sure which one to use as each one is only strong for one program. Or, things like having an activity stream that only includes things for one system and not the other.

I would maybe try to find an ACL component that you like and then have one group that's view only or not even that and then one that can use everything.

If you're looking for a paid for subscription thing to handle who has access to what, CB has a custom component for that which is supposed to be pretty substantial in what it can do. Even if it's not paid for stuff, it still might be able to handle permissions for individual features better.
