- I think I have completely messed something up. Basically I use joomla pack to recreate a website that had Virtuemart installed. Then on this recreated website I uninstalled Virtuemart and reinstalled it. When I went to the shop, all the products had disappeared. I wasn't bothered, because it was only a test website. However, when I went to the original website exactly the same thing has happened. Is this due to the fact that the.htaccess file is the same on the main site, and the reproduced site?

That depends if you have put anything domain specific in your htaccess file. Do you still have a backup of the database you was using so you could perhaps replace the virtuemart tables in phpmyadmin with the ones from your backup with your all your store data.
This may also require some reconfiguration of directory paths in virtuemart afterwards.
