Want to create an RSS feed

  • Want to create an RSS feed

    • I want to create my first RSS feed of my blog content, and I can't figure out how to do it. It must be completely elementary, because I can't find instructions anywhere! Please help.

    • That's great, thank you! But there's two problems...

      1. It only seems to be working when I click the link from the blog page. From the homepage, the articles don't come up.

      2. If I click the link from one of the category pages, I can only get a list of the articles within that category. I would like for all subscribers to receive all of the articles. Is this possible?

Thanks for all of your help!

    • Visit the page of the RSS feed you want to use for everything and save that url. Then you can use any RSS image of your choice and just link it to that particular RSS feed url!

You are seeing the different rss feeds because the function is designed to be able to offer an rss feed for whatever page you happen to be on. If you have a website of 5 different categories and each menu item is of a particular category, you can just publish this one module and it works per what page you are on.

    • Greetings,

I am not getting how to display a button for RSS feeds. When I link an image to an RSS URL, it is asking for the user to subscribe and add the feed to their bookmarks. I thought that the button would take them directly to the RSS content.

I have tried using the syndication module but do not understand how to provide RSS links within it.

Also tried the feed module which displayed all of the content within the sidebar.

I want to link directly to content.

      Thanks much.

      Josepha

    • Hi, there! I'm not sure I can answer your question properly, because I am still very new at this, but this is what I did:

In the case of my website, blog articles are located on the page www.site.com/blog . So the RSS feed was located at www.site.com/blog/feed/rss.html

All I had to do was pick an RSS button image I liked, and copy the link of the RSS feed into the image link. It's works just like any other image link. The user then has the option of copying and pasting the link into their own RSS reader, or clicking the google reader or internet explorer reader options.

      Hope this helps!
