Hi Guys,
Couldn't find anything on the forums about this, but hopefully someone else has a fix!
I'm currently setting up an e-commerce site using all the most recent versions of the following components:
Joomla! 1.5.10
Virtuemart 1.1.3
SH404SEF 1.0.20_Beta - build_237
The issue I'm having is to do with when SH404SEF rewrites all the URLs to make them more search engine friendly.
It works on all scenarios, except when selecting product categories through the product categories navigation menu. Doing this leaves the URL in it's standard Joomla form, and then when clicking on other links it appends them to the existing link (of sorts).
Any ideas how this could be happening, and how I could fix it?

Hello,
I am not familiar with sh404sef because all I have used is the built-in Joomla sef urls. Have you asked or tried the developer's forums?

- I had the same problem, but I am using Joomla's built-in SEF. I fixed it by disabling the System - Legacy plugin. As soon as I disabled the legacy plug in, the categories menu was fixed.

I downloaded sh404SEF to test it out and the categories menu links were not working again and the layout of the site became very broken. I fixed it by instead using the .htaccess file and in then in the joomla admin going to components>sh404SEF>click on the "click here to switch to extended display">click sh404sef configuration>click the advanced tab and set Rewriting Mode to ".htaccess (mod_rewrite)."
(you can also go to the plugins tab and configure the sh404 virtuemart settings.)
Router.php Fix: Download the router.php file from this link or the thread below (same file) and upload it to the "/components/com_virtuemart/" folder.
Helper.php Fix: Download the helper.txt file attached to the second post and rename it to helper.php and upload it to "/modules/mod_rokvirtuemart_categories/"

Do this only if your installation is in "yoursite.com/folder/" instead of "yoursite.com/"

Hey All,
I can't thank you enough for helping me with this. Everything now seems to be working fine.
I only needed to complete the Rewritebase and helper.php steps to get it working, which is fortunate because I couldn't find the download or steps to edit the router.php file in links.
I shall certainly be bookmarking this topic for future use.

Jon,
I mistakenly wrote "how to edit router.php manually" when it should be "how to edit helper.php manually". I made the correction in my previous post. I also added a direct download to the router.php file, it does not need to be edited. Just downloaded and uploaded to the "/components/com_virtuemart/" directory.

there's something i don't understand concerning this mod_rokvirtuemart_categories, the sef rewritting is wrong anyway, it doesn't work as a standard joomla menu. Why?
If i replace the left nav "cart" menu mod_rokvirtuemart_categories by a standard joomla rocknavmenu in the left side bar, sef works great with virtuemart also cotegories & subcategories, with native joomla sef or SH404 sef....

After that i had my standard "cart" joomla menu with all my virtuemart categories & subcategories, the question is : how to integer a class "arrow arrow-collapse" to get the same effect of collapsable menu with the "+" button at right side of each categories??
If you do this there won't be any soucy with sef for your left side menu... no??
