  • Weirdness with Recent Videos In Hyperion

    • I have to admit, I didn't really play at all with this when I had a membership... but I just went into the module and came back out and all of a sudden I have a "Download Flash" button and the demo videos have disappeared. I have downloaded and installed latest version of Flash. I have also followed the tutorial here:

      Funny thing is, it shows fine in the demo version for me (on the RT site). It's just on my site that it now does not work.

      Any ideas how going into the module and then closing out might have messed it up? I even turned WYSIWYG editor off and tried to input the code again with no luck.

      Thanks to anyone who might be able to give me insight.

      Usually, if you turn off the editor off and re-insert the code like shown in the tutorial, it will be fixed. Could you please send me a PM with your Joomla SuperAdmin details so I can look closer to your problem?

      It's been very interesting! I have installed now 3 more times and I am almost certain there is a conflict in something that the Extended WYSIWYG editor JCE uses with the script that is controlling the videos.

      The first time, I installed per instructions and as you know, my video player would not work.

      At that time, I went to the template instructions and turned of the Editor (JCE) and then went in and re-inserted the code from the instructions. It did not display even when I went in and put the fresh code in.

      Last night I re-installed again and went through my checklist... installed the RocketLauncher for Hyperion, upgraded to 1.5.12, everything was perfect! My last step was to install JCE. As soon as I installed JCE, the video player would not display.

      So this time (3rd time re-installing), I installed again per instructions, but did not install JCE and it's fine.

      So clearly, something totally messes up the Video script when you install JCE. What is even weirder, is that when I installed JCE the time before last on this, I did not make it the default editor. Just something in the JCE code seems to take over, even when it is not default editor.

      I will PM you my login if you still wish to poke around, but keep in mind i did not install JCE this time.

      Thank you so much for getting back to me and let me know if you still want the login. It would be ideal to use JCE and this video script together, but I will sacrifice JCE for the use of the script.

      Guess what... all was fine... upgraded to J 1.5.12 and it broke the videos again. I'm going to send you my login to see if you can figure out what is going on. Check your PMs

    • It seems the Editor breaks the codes. Have you asked this problem in JCE forum?
      In the mean time, I would suggest you if you want to edit the codes, turn the WYSIWYG editor first

      No I haven't got to JCE forum. I will do that. What is odd is that even with WYSIWYG editor off, just installing JCE totally messes up the JS. Anyway, really frustrating on the part of JCE and not sure I'll bother with it.

    • Yes, sometimes the editor brings problem. It's good to insert article, but when you need to insert codes, I would highly recommend you to turn it off temporary
