Formatting Articel Submission Date and Time

Posted 15 years 4 months ago
    • Hi,

does sbdy know of a plugin which can format the submission date time in a more fashion way, not just like in plain letters but with some fancy colors and background image?

    • To keep this thread alive I will add this question: what plugin does RT use to show the date formatted like this?

    • If I remember correctly, Affinity is using Superblogger by Joomlaworks. I think that formatting is part of superblogger. As far as a separate plugin to create that, I'm not aware of one, but I'm guessing its out there.

    • I use a Joomla plugin called Calendar Stamp from the JED on my site at www.icponline.org . It has a number of built-in options, such as colour and size and so on. And you can choose which sections/categories to have it display in. Works well for me.

    • I've used the Calendar stamp to which John is referring and it does work well...a ton of colors and setting and low overhead.

You can also take the few lines of css for your respective color choice and add to your template.css file to save the additional css file is uses from loading, which reduces the its 'footprint' even more. Pretty lightweight and slick. ;)

    • Thanks Terp and John for your replies!

I've already used Calendar Stamp but found the font size to small. Although I've set some of my articles to not show any date/time but this plugin did not respect this setting at all.

Ok, I will now re-check Calendar Stamp :cheesy:

The setting to show or not show the date stamp for an article has to be done in the plugin parameters, not in the article parameter settings, as far as I know. Did you try that?

    • So, I've now customized Calender Stamp to fit my needs with the help of some CSS coding from RT website.
      So here is the result:

to be seen here http://www.velypse.de/ .

I wonder however, how I can remove the extra space between the article caption and the content. I couldn't figure out how to do this as I'm not a CSS expert.
Perhaps it is not possible at all when modifying my Calendar Stamp CSS file but perhaps somebody who is more firm in CSS can tell me a solution.

      Thanks

    • Thanks Mark,
I did this already before but there was too much space left either. I've set this value now to the suggested one and perhaps somebody else can give some further advice on how to reduce the gap further more.

Thank you very much for your answer!
