Hi,
I was wondering if anyone had any knowledge and which tools are best for daily backups.
I currently used lazybackup for db dumps to my email, but I found the other day when I need to restore the backup there were problems with the data in it and after looking at previous ones found the problem had been there for a while.
I am looking for a script that will email me a db dump every day, and maybe also one that will ftp a file back to another server.

JoomlaPack does that and it has been consistently developed for quite a while now. They are constantly working on adding new features as well as improving the ones already there. My recommendation by far and I'm using for emailed backed up db's as well as loading to another server daily.
The one issue they are working on that is not really strong yet is using the cron task for a full site backup and ftp-ing it or emailing it. The larger file just doesn't work as well, but as for db's only, I've never had a problem.

Also note, on some host backing up your site backs up only the files in your root, not the databases.
Joomla!Pack backs up the site & the database creating an installer with which you can restore your site to your server on any other server. - Thanks,
