Joomlapck help please

  • Joomlapck help please

    • Hello all

I have installed the latest version of Joomlapack onto a test site to use before moving a cliets site

I am getting the following error message

Could not open /usr/local/psa/home/vhosts/urbancolour.co.uk/httpdocs/administrator/components/com_joomlapack/backup/site-www.urbancolour.co.uk-20100130-155226.jpa for writing. Check permissions and open_basedir restrictions.

I have set the directory to 777, but this doesn't seem to help

Been to JPack forum but no replies as yet, any ideas to solve please?

      Thanks

    • (Can't really remember if I gave you instructions or provided a link for them....)

But in any case, try using the zip format instead of .jpa.
    • Thanks,
      jim

    • Hi Jem

I dont have any trace of link or instructions from you, sorry

When you say use zip, I assume you mean in the JPack configuration so I changed Archiver engine from JPA to (Zip, using PHP functions) - Hope that was right

Anyway, with all permissions set to 777 I now get this error message

Warning: fopen(/usr/local/psa/home/vhosts/urbancolour.co.uk/httpdocs/administrator/components/com_joomlapack/backup/site-www.urbancolour.co.uk-20100131-084601.zip) [function.fopen]: failed to open stream: Permission denied in /usr/local/psa/home/vhosts/urbancolour.co.uk/httpdocs/administrator/components/com_joomlapack/classes/engine/packer/zip.php on line 266

It's all over my head :-), I'll try to work through it, but if anyone can help please

      Thanks

    • Im not sure if this makes a difference, but looking at the line

      httpdocs/administrator/components/com_joomlapack/classes/engine/packer/zip.php

When in my file manager I can find no route to - /classes/engine/packer/zip.php,

Am I just clutching at straws here?

      Thanks

    • Thanks again Jem

Yes I rememeber your post now, thanks for the link, Ive bookmarked it for future use

I did also post my problem on the Jpack forum and an admin came back with changing permissions to allow access. Did this and no change

I will post again with the zip change you suggested and the new error message.

I need to get this sorted so I can move a clients new site to his server, I was testing JPack on a spare site to make sure all was well

I will let you know what happens

      Thanks again

    • Strange

Ok I seem to have sorted this out now

I simply changed the output directory from the one given above to a new folder, backup complete

      Thanks again Jem
