    Image Protection

Posted 18 years 1 month ago
    • I'm looking for a way to protect my images from pirates clicking on them and being able to download!
I could do with something like the blank.png method used on recent RT templates when you try to save the logo.

I know this isn't a foolproof method and people can still screen capture but it does go quite a way to what I want!

      Thanks.

    • There is no absolutely foolproof way to protect your images.
Embedding them in a flash file makes it a little harder.
But like you said just take a screenshot or use a decompiler and grab the swf.
Javascript solutions don't work either, you can just disable javascript and get them.

The best thing you can do is to watermark the heck out of them so that they can't be easily used.
      Just my 2cents.
    • Do not go where the path may lead, go instead where there is no path and leave a trail.

    • There are also lot of javascript which avoid the right click or which replace by another menu of your choice.
But keeps in mind that if someone want steal your images he will succeded without any doubt.

Perhaps the only way is to put a semi transparent text above.
But that will take time to do that for all your images.
However I'am sure that it exist some programs for making that easier.

But for your problem the best is google
Don't forget that Google is your friend :)

    • Folks can still just take a screen capture.

Best solution IMHO, use small, low res images when you are concerned about theft.

      Cheers!
