    [GRUNGE] Cycling showcase image & smaller indent menu text?

    Posted 13 years 10 months ago
    • Hi guys, new to the rockettheme community and glad to be here!

      I have a few questions, and i've tried going through the forums a bit to find a solution, but it's concluded with no avail.

      I'm using a Grunge template and I've read the post about how to duplicate the demo page. I understand all that and how showcase images are pulled from posted images. But my website is simply an informative website for a Veterinarian. In the slot for the images in the showcase area, is there any way to get multiple images in a rotation without having to put images into posts and using the HTML code given in the "how to duplicate the Grunge demo front page" forum post? Does that make any sense?

      and my second question is...

      I've got my mainmenu set to the left side of the page. Defined by the "MainBody Positions" and is set to "2" blocks in a 3|9 order.

      on one of the links in the menu i've got alot of child links. Heres an example:
      home
      know your vet
      modalities
      -Veterinary Orthopedic Manipulation
      -Ultrasound Therapy
      -Alpha Stimulation
      Get Direction

      Currently the child links under "modalities" are set to the same size as the rest of the menu options. Is there any way to make the font smaller for the child menu items?

      Any help would be greatly appreciated, I apologize if these questions have been answered before, but as i said i've gone through and didn't find anything.

      If you guys need anymore info, please let me know :)

      Thanks alot!

    • Hi there,

      If you only want images in the showcase then use RokSlideshow instead of RokStories :cheesy:

      www.rockettheme.com/extensions-joomla/rokslideshow

      To answer your next question about link sizes it would be best if we had a link to the site so we can give accurate advice.

      Hope this helps 8)

    • That will help very much! Thank you! :) I'll report back once i've tried it out.

      As far as the links go it's http://www.holisticpetcaretn.com

      The site isn't set to public though, so maybe we can coordinate a time for you to look at it? Or i can take a few screen shots if that would be easier?

      Thanks for the help!

    • Alright reporting back. I've installed the RokSlideshow module and am able to get a slide on the banner.

      My only problem is... What i liked about the RokStories is that you could use the banner design, then have images cycle through in the little image square (if that makes any since.)

      I guess basically my question is... Is there anyway to use the RokStories background (from the grunge template) and have pictures cycling through the little beige frame in the middle?

      Just out of curiosity i went into the style1.css file and change these values
      #rt-showcase .rokstories-layout2 .feature-arrow-r {background: url(../images/body/style1/buttons.png) -38px 0px no-repeat;cursor: pointer;height: 40px;position: absolute;right: 0;top: 70%;width: 40px;}

      #rt-showcase .rokstories-layout2 .feature-arrow-l {background: url(../images/body/style1/buttons.png) 0px 0px no-repeat;cursor: pointer;height: 35px;left: 0;position: absolute;top: 70%;width: 40px;}

      /* RokStories */
      .rokstories{background: url(../images/backgrounds/style1/showcasebasetwopictures1.png) no-repeat;}

      to
      #rt-showcase .rokslideshow .feature-arrow-r {background: url(../images/body/style1/buttons.png) -38px 0px no-repeat;cursor: pointer;height: 40px;position: absolute;right: 0;top: 70%;width: 40px;}

      #rt-showcase .rokslideshow .feature-arrow-l {background: url(../images/body/style1/buttons.png) 0px 0px no-repeat;cursor: pointer;height: 35px;left: 0;position: absolute;top: 70%;width: 40px;}

      /* Rokslideshow */
      .rokslideshow{background: url(../images/backgrounds/style1/showcasebasetwopictures1.png) no-repeat;}

      But that didn't seem to work... No clue if i had the right idea or not, haha. Just thought i'd give it a shot.

      Thanks again for the help!
