    SOLVED Fatal error (using AMPPS)

Posted 10 years 9 months ago
    • Not sure if this belongs under Joomla or Gantry. Feel free to move, of course.
Anyway, trying to return to my Joomla roots, I installed Joomla on localhost and then downloaded the Afterburner Template/Gantry bundle & installed. But am getting an error:
Fatal error: Call to undefined function ctype_digit() in /Applications/AMPPS/www/joomla30/libraries/gantry/core/utilities/gantrylesscompiler.class.php on line 2779
Big downside...using a localhost server (in this case AMPPS) so no URL to check. However, the non-RT templates that came with Joomla worked okay.

Check your PHP settings to ensure you have this installed and enabled -> ctype: ctype functions enabled

    • Many thanks, Dan.

Yep, it looks like the ctype in the PHP settings is the culprit, thank you.

I have no good reason to switch to AMPPS. MAMP worked fine but I needed to upgrade my version of PHP and then I googled and *oh look, shiny* and I installed AMPPS :) It has a nice enough interface but I'm not convinced that, apart from maybe support, MAMP isn't the way to go.

      Thanks again!
