RokMiniEvents: Could not create storage directory

I've been futzing with RokMiniEvents for about two hours now and still can't get it to work. The latest error on the front end is
Could not create storage directory: /tmp/Google_Client/94
By the way, the instructions for this need to be updated. Google's Developer's Console looks and operates nothing at all like the documentation. It was nearly impossible to figure out.
Any ideas on the error?

This has nothing to do with RokMiniEvents. Googles API is a terrible thing for web designers who AREN'T web coders
This has been rehashed in too many posts and 99.99% of the time its the GoogleAPI and Calendar aren't setup correctly OR Google doesn't like your server.
