  • RokGallery non-latin tags - possible?

    • I was migrating an old J1.0 Cyrillic web-site to Joomla 3 and wanted to use RokGallery instead of the old com_true.
      But I found out that RokGallery doesn't allow non-latin tags. When I try to add a non-latin tag, it doesn't work. Tag search by non-latin tags (if tags updated via DB) doesn't work as well.
      Did I miss something? Is this possible to use non-latin tags? This limitation kills RokGaller for me when unsing Cyrillic. :-(

    • I do remember some issue with this but I can't find a bug ticket for it. Can you tell me how the issue manifest itself? what error message do you get? Set joomla global configuration error level to "maximum" and look in the browser console for an error mesage.

      Please do a screenshot of the error too please.

      Make sure that you are using latest rokgallery version too.

    • No error messages. Please watch the video, 25 sec. showing the bug


      Full error output level is enabled. But it doesn't pass to the Ajax part. It seems, that JS block adding the tag before passing data to Ajax.

    • Ok I reproduced that - yes the tags field only accepts standard characters not cyrillic. You will notice that the field pulses red when you enter these characters to show it's not allowed. As the validation has been added to deliberately prevent this I am sure there will be a good reason for it but I will raise a bug ticket. I must also say though that I think it's highly unlikely that our DEVS will be able to even look at this for some time.
