Rokgallery update goes wrong...

Hi,
upon updating RokGallery somehow the Rokcommon plugin is deleted.
I already tried to install the latest version of Roksprocket as mentioned elsewhere in this forum, but the problem persists.
Any other options?

This is most likely a permissions issue.

Actually that didn't have anything do to with it. If any error there, I had already given too many permissions to my testing grounds webserver.
As it turned out, it was a Rokcommon error that was displayed that turned me on a false path.
The solution was to install Rokgallery two times. The first time, the install was not completed (for whatever reason) and resulted in a blank screen. The second time it was correctly installed, although an error about the RokCommon plugin was displayed. Refreshing the page managed to remove the, apparently faulty, error.
I since tried to (re)install both Roksprocket (v2.1.14) and Rokgallery (v2.42) and both installations behave this way. First install results in a blank page, refreshing to "administrator/index.php?option=com_installer&view=install" and installing the same extension finally results in a good install, but with the above-mentioned error message. Refreshing again however simply removes this warning.

Blank pages are normally server500 errors (look in browser console) - look in the apache error log for a more detailed error message associated with the server500 error.
I don't think refreshing the page is fixing anything - it's circumventing the error leaving the extension in a broken state.
