Afterburner - gradient background problem

I can't seem to solve this problem. I've read all the posts here on this and tried the tweaks but doesn't work. Posted in a couple of threads but no response hence started new thread.
I've posted some screen shots below to show that for some reason the gradient background works right on the News Blog but no where else.

The background in these screenshots is about 2000px in length. The tan one on the site is about 800px
