    SOLVED Weeblr AMP for Joomla!

Posted 8 years 7 months ago
    • Hi there,

I would like to use Weeblr AMP for Joomla! It is a plugin that converts pages to AMP pages. Great for Google ranking, but I'm not entirely sure it works with Gantry 5. Can you confirm whether this is likely to be the case?

      Best regards,
      Eoin

    • That's what I did, hence the forum post. Nothing changes, but I know Gantry5 is pretty powerful and takes control of things so it might effect something like that. I'll try without Gantry5 and then we can probably say Gantry5 may be the variable.

    • Yes and it also didn't work so I am doing something wrong. I will come back with a solution when I get it working.

    • Would be interesting to see a live site with Gantry 5 and AMP to see what is affected and striped out and how the design of the site changes with AMP.

Will you post a link of a live site? Would be great.

    • Sure thing. I actually think it uses a different template for AMP, which makes a lot of sense. So in effect you have your normal page which is G5, and then your AMP page which is stripped down. The duplicates are marked as so with a <meta> information stating this AMP relates to this page and this page relates to this AMP so you are not penalised.

Effectively you're only allowed to have images, text, and no JS, which pretty much rules out a lot of G5 niceties.
