User Management - Extension or custom code?

Hi All,
I've stuck this in here as it's not template specific.
The newer RT templates have been coming already prestyled for K2, Jomsocial, Tienda and other 3d party components. I'm really getting into the newer RT stuff, so in my latest site I've got both Jomsocial and Tienda installed using Panacea. They are both fantastic, apart from one thing....
The problem is my user management. Both Jomsocial and Tienda sync with the core Joomla user data. Anyone who registers through Jomsocial automatically gets a Tienda login (which is fine) but anyone who registers with Tienda automatically gets a Jomsocial login (which isn't fine). What happens is that anyone who buys a product from the shop effectively ends up with an avatar and a profile on the social network that they idn't ask for! Erk!!
I'm not convinced this is one I should take up with either Jomsocial or Tienda - it's more of a general solution relating to managing users across different user tables within the same database. There must be others at RT that have come across this using different apps that use user tables, I wondered if there was a good plugin for managing it. I can see this maybe ending up a custom coding nightmare! The horrors
Any pointers appreciated.

Well, as it turns out there weren't that many horrors. :cheesy:
For anyone who finds this thread further down the line because they are using Tienda and JomSocial together and have hit this issue - I ended up just doing a quick workaround and wrote about it here;
